Mitsubishi sunk in the Neckar: Police are looking for witnesses in Sachsenheim!
On May 30, 2025, the streets around Ludwigsburg will be the scene of several worrying incidents. While the police are still investigating unknown perpetrators, the safety of citizens remains an important issue.
A particularly striking incident occurred on Wednesday evening, May 28th, when a Mitsubishi was stolen on Bahnhofstrasse in Großsachsenheim. The car, which was used as a delivery vehicle for a fast food restaurant, disappeared around 10:50 p.m. while the driver was delivering food. The ignition key was probably still in the vehicle, which made the theft easier for the perpetrators. The police were informed immediately, but were initially unable to find any information about the whereabouts of the vehicle. The next morning, around 6:35 a.m., a passer-by discovered the car in the Neckar, parallel to Talstrasse. This led to a large-scale deployment of the fire brigade, rescue service and water police.
The recovery of the vehicle
While clearing the vehicle, a firefighter lowered himself down with a rope to check whether there were anyone in or around the car. Fortunately, it turned out that there was no one left in the vehicle. During the recovery, the Mitsubishi was finally identified as the stolen vehicle. Inside, police found a bag containing the delivery driver's belongings; Luckily nothing had been stolen. The investigators suspect that the perpetrators used the vehicle for a joyride and then sank it in the Neckar.
The police are asking any witnesses who saw anything suspicious on the evening of the theft or in the area of Talstrasse to come forward. The aim is to hold the perpetrators accountable and prevent similar incidents in the future.
More incidents in the region
There were also other alarming events in the region in the days surrounding the theft. A traffic accident occurred on Wednesday on the BAB 81 near Rottenburg am Neckar. A 58-year-old Kia driver overlooked the stalled traffic and collided with a Fiat and then with a Renault, which resulted in minor injuries to the two drivers. All three vehicles had to be towed away, which temporarily put additional strain on the traffic situation in the region, as ludwigsburg24.com reported.
In addition, a road traffic offense was reported in Murr in which a 33-year-old Skoda driver was the victim of coercion by an 80-year-old BMW driver. Witnesses are also asked to help here.
The current situation in Ludwigsburg raises questions about security and makes it clear that the police, despite their extensive measures, continue to rely on the support of citizens. Observations or tips on suspicious activities can make a decisive contribution to holding perpetrators accountable and increasing security in the region.
