Running Smurfs rock in Stuttgart: Rain of medals for Gerlingen!

The 32nd Stuttgart Run took place in Stuttgart on May 26, 2025, in which KSG Gerlingen took part with its youngest talents, the Running Smurfs. The little runners not only achieved impressive results, but also had a lot of fun doing it. Particularly noteworthy are Isabella Saak and Amalia Schlegel, who took the first two places in the U12 age group. Clarissa Schlegel was the fastest in the U14, giving the team from Gerlingen another reason to be happy as all three girls received trophies for their achievements. Lotte Zuleck, the youngest participant, was happy to receive a medal after her Bambini run. The other participants such as Lilli, Tom, Laura and Sara also completed the event with good placings.

The successful results of KSG Gerlingen reflect the growing trend towards running events in Germany. According to a study by Statista, the number of running events and participants has increased continuously from 1964 to 2024. This shows that running is seen as an integral part of German sports culture and motivates many people to regularly take part in such events. Access to Statista data is possible at this link.
