On Sunday afternoon, June 23, 2025, a vehicle fire occurred on the A8 near the Scheppacher Flur parking lot. A 53-year-old was driving his car towards Munich when he suddenly noticed smoke coming from the engine compartment. After immediate inspection, he discovered that a fire had broken out in the engine compartment. Luckily, he was able to successfully extinguish the fire using a fire extinguisher before the situation got out of control. The alerted Burgau fire department was quickly deployed to carry out further extinguishing measures and to seal off any leaking operating materials. The Günzburg traffic police suspect a technical defect as the cause of the fire and reported that no major traffic disruptions were detected.
