In a breathtaking spectacle last Wednesday, District Administrator Sebastian Gruber, together with courageous citizens and the mayor of Hinterschmiding, Fritz Raab, conquered the secret paths of nature in Freyung. The SENSATIONAL after-work bike ride as part of the spectacular CITY CYCLING campaign in a sweaty 30 degrees attracted bike lovers who absolutely wanted to be there! With a breathtaking mix of sporting challenges and warm community, this tour wasn't just about cycling! The participants enjoyed the fantastic views, had lively conversations and shared a snack in the castle courtyard made their hearts beat faster. It was a must-see event!
An unforgettable experience
Participants were not only refreshed physically but mentally too! After about 60 to 75 minutes of sweat and exertion, completely overwhelmed by nature, everyone was able to strengthen themselves again with cool drinks. But that was just the beginning! The CITY CYCLING campaign, which is being carried out for the fourth time in the Freyung-Grafenau district, has the ambitious goal of mobilizing citizens: to cover as many routes as possible by bike for 21 days! Last year, over 300 passionate cyclists took part and covered an incredible 85,000 kilometers! Everyone who lives in the region was invited – whether students, employees or club members! Everyone has the chance to collect incredible kilometers and qualify for prize money and valuable winnings!
