Youth fire brigades in Freyung: Excitement and honors at the competition!
Last weekend, the Freyung-Grafenau district hosted the 7th Bavarian Youth Fire Brigade Performance Competition, which was held according to the CTIF rules. The event took place from June 19th to 21st, 2025 at the sports facility at Oberfeld in Freyung. This year the students were once again challenged to demonstrate their skills in both firefighting and sporting areas. The valuable contribution of young people in the fire service to society was particularly highlighted by District Administrator Sebastian Gruber, who accompanied the final rally and award ceremony. The competition was held in two categories: “Silver” and “Gold”. On the first day of the competition, the youth fire brigade competed in the silver classification, while on the second day the gold classification took place. The participants had to complete demanding competition tasks that included both practical firefighting skills and sporting achievements. This international event attracted young firefighters from all over Bavaria who competed for the best places.

Honorary prizes and qualification for the federal competition, which will take place from September 5th to 7th, 2025 in Andernach, Rhineland-Palatinate, were available for the best five teams in the state ranking. The competition director Manfred Ziegler expressed the wish to bring a German champion to Bavaria. The final rally also ended with the Bavarian anthem and congratulations to the young people who had their birthdays that day.
