Shocking break-ins: schools and daycare centers in Nuremberg region attacked!

On the night of June 12th to 13th, 2025, several schools and kindergartens in Burgthann and Schwarzenbruck (Nürnberger Land district) were the target of break-ins. According to polizei.bayern.de, significant property damage was caused in a total of three educational institutions, while in most cases the perpetrators made little or no loot.

The affected schools are the primary school in Schwarzenbruck on Johann-Degelmann-Straße, the Oberferrieden primary school on Nürnberger Straße and the primary school, crèche and after-school care center in Ezelsdorf, which is located on Schulstraße. What is particularly noteworthy is that several hundred euros were stolen from a safe in the elementary school in Ezelsdorf, while no significant theft apparently took place in the other facilities.

Investigations by the criminal police

The Schwabach criminal police have already started investigations to clarify the background to the break-ins. The police are asking the public for help; tips from witnesses can be received by calling 0911 2112 – 3333. Investigators are looking for information that could lead to the identification of the perpetrators.

The incidents show once again how important it is to protect schools and kindergartens from vandalism and break-ins, as such attacks not only cause property damage, but also a significant feeling of insecurity in the community.

There are also questions about the security of such facilities and the measures that can be taken to prevent future break-ins. The affected schools could potentially benefit from optimized security concepts to minimize such incidents and regain the confidence of parents and students in their safety.
