Altdorf increases daycare fees: What parents need to know now!
The municipality of Altdorf has taken a significant step towards redesigning its kindergarten finances. The grant requirement for day care centers in Gaggenau is expected to increase from 5 million euros in 2019 to over 8 million euros in 2024. Gaggenau currently looks after around 1,295 children between 0 and 6 years in a variety of 15 day care centers, with private and church providers also affected. There are efforts by the associations to achieve the cost recovery degree of 20 percent through parental contributions, which is not met with the new increases.
The Mayor of Gaggenau, Andreas Paul, also announced that it would discuss the kindergarten contributions in the new cultural and social committee about a more family-friendly setting. These discussions are planned for the kindergarten year 2025/2026.
