Aidlingen reinvents itself: New logo brings a breath of fresh air to tourism!

Aidlingen is taking a new path in tourism and proudly presents a fresh logo with the slogan “Where nature lives”. This initiative aims to promote the attractiveness of the community while emphasizing its connection to nature and tradition. After two decades, the previous logo was replaced with a modern design that features a green triangle, a stylized red mill wheel and a wavy blue line. Mayor Helena Österle (CDU) emphasizes that a contemporary external image is of crucial importance for the municipality.

Two graphic offices were commissioned to design the new logo, each of which submitted four suggestions. A committee made up of the mayor and members of the administration selected the design by the Calw office Strässer Werbe as the winner. This new look will be rolled out gradually, starting with digital channels and stationery. Further adjustments affect the homepage, brochures, town entrance signs, vehicles and work clothing.

Costs and photo competition

The implementation of these measures causes total costs of an estimated 20,000 euros for new town entrance signs and 3,000 euros for the graphics performance. To bring the motto “Where Nature Lives” to life, the community is planning a photo competition. Citizens can send their pictures that reflect the motto to the email address l.peters@aidlingen.de.

These steps are part of a larger trend in Germany, where tourism secures around 2.8 million jobs and generates a total consumption of around 330 billion euros. In the context of this economic reality, Ayldingen is committed to strengthening its tourism infrastructure and improving the quality of life for locals and visitors alike. As emphasized in a position paper by the German Association of Cities (dstgb.de), the importance of tourism should be more strongly reflected in federal policy.

However, at a time when post-pandemic development is providing new tourism opportunities for rural communities, the sector is struggling with skills shortages, particularly in the hospitality sector. Therefore, support from federal politics is even more important in order to overcome the challenges in the field of tourism and to promote local initiatives such as those in Aidlingen.

The German advertising agency in medias rees was significantly involved in the development of the new logo. Simone Rees, who is responsible for content, emphasizes that the new appearance is not only modern, but also reflects the character of the community.
