Stuttgart: New sommelier brings wine experiences to New Josch!
The fine dining restaurant New Josch in Stuttgart has a new permanent sommelier on board: Philipp Berg. The experienced specialist previously worked as a consultant for the Restaurant am Killesberg and has also worked in renowned establishments such as Olivo, Genussmeisterei and most recently at Ritzi Gourmet at Ben Benasr. With his new role at New Josch, Berg will manage the wine list and provide wine pairings for the gourmet menu, which is also available in non-alcoholic form.
Philipp Berg looks after a well-stocked wine cellar that includes a variety of excellent wines from France and around the world. A focus of his work will be to strengthen relationships with regional winemakers and introduce the “Winemaker of the Month” concept.
Culinary wine evenings in focus
A highlight of Berg's program are the culinary wine evenings, at which a selected winery presents its wines. These evenings are very popular, as the last event with the Graf Adelmann winery shows, which was fully booked within three days.
Exciting events are already planned for the coming months. The Wöhrwag winery from Untertürkheim will take place from June to August and a wine evening will take place on July 17, 2025, where participants can enjoy a 5-course menu. In autumn, the Beurer winery from Kernen will also be presented.
| Winery | Date | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Count Adelman | Already fully booked | Still available |
| Wöhrwag | July 17, 2025 | €159 |
| Beurer | Fall 2025 | €159 |
The price for the wine evenings is €159 per person and includes an aperitif, all wines and the 5-course menu created by chef Sven Lacher. In addition, Berg plans to organize wine tastings in the restaurant, which can be booked for groups.
Exclusive events at New Josch
A private dining floor is available for particularly exclusive events and is equipped with two different rooms for groups of 12 to 14 people. This makes individual celebrations and special occasions possible in a stylish ambience.
In addition to the culinary wine evenings, New Josch will also offer themed wine tastings based on the trends and preferences of wine lovers. Such events have already sparked great enthusiasm in cities like Berlin. Wine tastings with different focuses, such as combinations of wine and cheese or themed wine evenings, take place regularly.
With the engagement of Philipp Berg, the New Josch is positioning itself as another highlight of the Stuttgart gastronomy scene and thus appeals not only to wine lovers, but also to gourmets who appreciate the combination of exquisite dishes and fine wines. The restaurant thus becomes a center for culinary discoveries and trends.
