World record event: 26-hour sauna marathon in Wunnebad Winnenden!
Next July, the Wunnebad Winnenden wants to start an impressive world record attempt in the sauna area. A 26-hour sauna marathon is planned, which will be held as part of a large-scale event. The trial starts on Friday, July 25th at 5 p.m. and ends on Saturday, July 26th at around 8 p.m. The goal is to offer 120 infusions within this time frame. Ten professional infusers will ensure a varied program that will allow participants to both sweat and relax. According to Stuttgarter Nachrichten, the event also promises an appealing supporting program Night barbecues, steam bath treatments, shared breakfast and Pilates sessions.
Three different ticket variants are available to take part in this unique event: A 26-hour ticket priced at 99 euros, which offers access to all infusions, treatments and food, is limited to just 100 pieces. The night ticket for 69 euros is valid from Friday 8 p.m. to Saturday 8 a.m. and includes 60 infusions and the barbecue. For daytime there is the day ticket, also for 69 euros, which is valid from Saturday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and includes breakfast and access to 60 infusions. However, doctors advise not to take more than two to five sauna sessions per day. Regular breaks and adequate fluid intake are also important, according to the organizer. Tickets are available online www.wunnebad.de available. During the event, the indoor pool will only be accessible to ticket holders, but the outdoor pool will remain open as usual.
A new record in the sauna segment
The record attempt in Winnenden is in the context of currently increasing interest in sauna events. On April 28, 2025, a world record for the longest uninterrupted sauna infusion was set in Neuharlingersiel, East Frisia. This event, carried out by a team of ten pourers, significantly exceeded the previous record of 6 hours and 15 minutes. A new record was set at an incredible 12 hours and 12 minutes, with a total of 61 infusions taking place by 11 p.m. The record was confirmed by a representative of the Record Institute for Germany (RID), and the proceeds from the event went to youth work. An infusion was carried out every 12 minutes, with at least five sauna guests having to be present for each infusion. This shows not only the commitment of the participants, but also the enormous popularity of such events, as reported on NDR.
Such events have a loyal fan base. The Jeromin couple from Rinteln, for example, set their own record last year with 555 decorated trees, which underlines the creative spirit of such events.
With the combination of competitive spirit and relaxing wellness offers, the Wunnebad shows how diverse the sauna culture is in Germany and offers participants the opportunity to become part of an unforgettable experience.
