B29 closed due to renovation: traffic adjustments from July 4, 2025!

Current traffic obstacles on the B29 between Urbach and Lorch can be expected in the coming weeks. According to a statement by the Stuttgart regional council, which was published on June 27, the comprehensive renovation work of the federal road is progressing. This construction work has been running since May 2024 and are now in the fifth and last construction phase.

The fourth construction phase, which includes the renewal of the road in the direction of Stuttgart, the renovation of the Lorch-West and Waldhausen access roads as well as the repair of bridges, will be released on July 4, 2025. Afterwards, the fifth construction phase between the Waldhausen access and access Urbach will be set up on the same day, the actual traffic safety of which will be active from July 13, 2025.

Details about the construction phases

The work in the fifth construction phase includes the renewal of the road surface in the direction of Stuttgart. In addition, the approach and departure of Plüderhausen will be renovated and blocked in this direction. Nevertheless, traffic on the B29 remains possible in both directions, with the road in the direction of Aalen. Small -spacious diversions to Plüderhausen are shown to minimize the impairments for road users.

The total costs for the renovation measures amount to around 22 million euros that are invested by the federal government. The Stuttgart regional council asks the road users for understanding the continued restrictions during the construction phase.
