Judoka Christian Ellinger: New goals at TSV Schnait!

Christian Ellinger, a passionate judoka, is planning a new start at TSV Schnait. He began his judo journey at SV Fellbach at the tender age of eight. At the time, judo was his main passion, but over the years this sport has become less important to him, which he also attributes to his changing priorities. Stuttgart News reports that Ellinger is now a father of three and now puts his family, which also includes his children Liah (5 years old), Jannis (3 years old) and two-month-old Finn, first.

But Ellinger doesn't stay away from judo entirely. In 2003 he looked after the young judoka Mark Dietrich at the SV Fellbach Kappelberg tournament, who now works as a trainer himself. Ellinger has been a teacher for German, technology and computer science at the Rumold Realschule in Rommelshausen since 2018. This new job offers him the opportunity to combine his passion for teaching with his sporting past.

Exercise pass and judo courses for children

As part of TSV Schnait's activities, a large group of 85 children took part in an exercise pass on May 4th. The children were tasked with imitating animal movements at eight different stations while collecting dragon stickers. The most popular station was that of the monkey, followed by the ant and the snake. Upon completion, participants received a kite certificate and a surprise as a reward. The next movement pass is already planned for May 4th, 2025, and all children between the ages of 2 and 7 are cordially invited to take part without prior registration.

In addition to the exercise pass, TSV Schnait also offers new judo courses for beginners, which will take place on Wednesdays from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Schnaiter Hall. Judo is not only an excellent way to promote children's physical fitness, but also teaches essential values such as respect, discipline and fairness. Judo100 emphasizes that through judo children learn to deal with physical and mental challenges while developing coordination skills.

Club activities and community engagement

In addition to judo and the exercise pass, TSV Schnait is also committed to seniors with a functional gymnastics group that is active on Thursdays from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. There is also a parent-child gymnastics course for the little ones, which starts on November 6, 2023. The club is also active in the area of artistic gymnastics, with a club championship planned for December 17, 2023.

In addition, numerous successful examinations of trainers within the club have taken place in the past, which underlines the quality of the offer. Anni Zeiser passed the examination to become a DOSB trainer for B Sport in prevention, while Laura Kistner and Anna Schwerdt successfully completed the trainer examination in gymnastics. These commitments in the club not only strengthen the community but also the personal and sporting abilities of the participants.

A new balance beam was purchased through a check from Aldi Süd in October 2022 in order to offer the gymnasts a modern training standard.
