Trial starts: Motorcycle thieves gang in the Ludwigsburg district in court!
On June 3, 2025, a trial regarding a series of thefts of motorcycles began before the Heilbronn regional court. Two men, 24 years old, are accused of stealing a total of 26 high-priced motorcycles between November 2023 and June 2024. These acts are mainly concentrated in the Ludwigsburg district, but the Heilbronn district is also affected. The total value of the stolen motorcycles is estimated at around 321,000 euros, giving this series significant economic damage, as Stuttgarter News reported.
The defendants, born in 2000 and 2001, are said to have stolen motorcycles from various places, including Abstatt, Asperg and Bietigheim-Bissingen, from public spaces and then dismantled them. The individual parts were apparently stored in Cologne to be later sold on to Eastern Europe. The negotiation will continue over several dates until August 2025. Among those invited are six witnesses and an interpreter for Ukrainian, who will be needed during the trial, as City News reports.
Course of the trial and indictment
The trial took place in the large criminal chamber of the Heilbronn regional court. After the official reading of the charges, the judges, the prosecutor and the defense attorneys withdrew for legal discussions. A possible outcome of these talks is to be announced on the next day of the negotiations, which could be important for both sides.
The defendants have been in custody since November 2024, which underlines the seriousness of the charges. The various crime scenes and the precise time period of the crimes make it clear that the justice system is making serious efforts to investigate and prosecute gang theft.
