Gastronomy pavilion Café Little Prince” delays opening!

On Friday, June 6th, the newly designed Arsenalplatz in Ludwigsburg will be ceremoniously opened. Part of this redesign is the “Café Kleiner Prinz” gastronomy pavilion, which opens its doors on the opening days. But it is already clear that the café's regular operations will start later than planned. The café was originally scheduled to open for business on June 10th, but will now be open from Monday, June 16th. The reason for this delay is delivery bottlenecks in kitchen installation, which require additional technical improvements, as LKZ reports. Mayor Matthias Knecht regrets the situation and emphasizes the need for complete technical equipment before the café can start regular operations.

Arsenalplatz, which was previously a parking lot, has been transformed into a beautiful inner-city square. It now covers an area of ​​8,000 square meters, which was designed by Mann Landschaftsarchitektur. The redesign brought with it 41 new trees such as bluebells and bird cherries as well as the preservation of 19 old trees. To take the climate into account, the court surface was designed to absorb rainwater. There is also a cistern for irrigation. The costs of the entire redesign amount to 4.8 million euros, of which 1.2 million euros come from federal and state funding.

Festive opening program

A colorful program will be offered on the opening days on June 6th and 7th. From 11 a.m. on June 6th, visitors can enjoy their first glimpses of the gastronomy pavilion, while the city administration will provide information about the history of the square from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The musical setting will be provided by the band Valle de Luna and the Labyrinth art school from 3 p.m., followed by a DJ performance from 6 p.m. On June 7th, the “Café Kleiner Prinz” will also open at 11 a.m. and offer further artist performances during the day. A DJ will also play in the afternoon.

The redesigned Arsenalplatz, with its variety of seating, a fountain field with 20 water jets and two table tennis tables, will be a central place for citizens and the appropriate backdrop for regular events in the city, as the city administration informs on its website. These measures are intended to create a lively space for meetings and social hours that will further enliven the heart of Ludwigsburg.
