Danger! Fraud by fake police officers is increasing!

On November 9, 2025, the Ulm Police Headquarters recorded a worrying increase in calls involving the “fake police officer” scam. The police have billed numerous calls, with at least 15 active callers in the Göppingen district, particularly in Uhingen and Bad Boll. These fraudsters aim to con the recipients out of their savings. The police are therefore urgently warning the population in the districts of Biberach, Heidenheim, Göppingen, Alb-Donau-Kreis and the city of Ulm about this scam.

The police's measures not only include warnings to the affected regions, but also general advice on protecting citizens. Those called should end the call immediately and dial 110 independently to ensure their safety. The police fear that residents of other regions within the jurisdiction of the Ulm police headquarters could also be affected, which further complicates the situation.

Active police measures

Security forces are calling on the public to be vigilant and inform their families about the risks of this scam. It is important to raise awareness among citizens to prevent possible financial losses. Most reporting citizens in Göppingen are currently affected. The police have already taken measures to counteract the perpetrators using the information they have collected and to initiate a criminal investigation.

The scam is not just limited to local borders and there is a possibility that more cases will be reported from other regions. The effectiveness of the police's communications strategy will become clear in the coming weeks as they continue to take active action against perpetrators.

It is therefore urgent that all citizens, especially the elderly, who are often the target of such calls, be informed about the risks and behavior in the event of such a call. The police appeal to everyone to be careful and, when in doubt, to act too much rather than too little.
