Modern mechanical ventilation has been implemented, supporting natural ventilation. With this renovation, the department is now equipped with 14 beds, offering both single and double rooms with private bathrooms. In addition, modern medical equipment was installed, including a first-of-its-kind incubator for the early care of newborns.
Hospital modernization program in Poland
The major renovation at Leborska Hospital is part of a larger plan to modernize healthcare infrastructure in Poland. The government has launched a comprehensive investment program that will allocate PLN 7 billion to improve Polish hospitals by 2029. The aim of this program is to improve the quality, availability and safety of healthcare in the country. This initiative takes place within the framework of the Medical Fund (FM), which includes several sub-funds, including the Sub-fund for the modernization of medical facilities.
The investment program is made up of various subfunds that, among other things, promote the strategic infrastructure and the development of prevention. Applications for financial support are selected through competitions organized by the Minister of Health. This support is targeted at public health facilities and includes the development of health care infrastructure and the replacement of hospital beds. Part of the funds will also be used to support emergency medical infrastructure.
The planned investment goals include modernizing and equipping 177 long-term care facilities and providing 15,000 new long-term care beds. The initiative promises to significantly improve the medical infrastructure and contribute to raising the level of healthcare in Poland to a higher quality level.
