Energa Ladies' Jazz Festival 2025: Dudziak and Barber inspire in Gdynia!

From July 5th to 10th, 2025, the Energa Ladies’ Jazz Festival will take place in Gdynia, a festival with an impressive twenty-year history. During this period, the organizers expect more than 110,000 listeners who can look forward to 160 concerts with over 600 artists. A special highlight of the festival is the concert premiere by Urszula Dudziak. On July 20, 2025 at 8:00 p.m. it will be in the renowned Teatr Muzyczny. Danuty Baduszkowej will perform and present her new record. For this event she has put together an outstanding ensemble that includes the following artists:

Urszula Dudziak: A legend of jazz

Urszula Dudziak is considered one of Poland's most important vocal artists and has made a name for herself since the 1970s. From 1973 to 2003 she lived in New York, where she recorded numerous albums with renowned artists such as Michał Urbaniak. During her career, Dudziak worked with international jazz greats such as Nina Simone, Bobby McFerrin and Sting. Her debut album “Newborn Light”, which she released as a duet with Adam Makowicz, was awarded 5 stars by the specialist magazine Down Beat.

Dudziak became particularly known for the worldwide hit “Papaya”, which she co-composed. Her artistic direction of the Energa Ladies’ Jazz Festival and her role as jury chairwoman of the Grand Prix Energa Ladies’ Jazz Festival confirm her influence and importance in jazz.

Future events and competitions

In addition to Dudziak's concert, Patricia Barber will also perform at the Teatr Muzyczny on July 26, 2025. The festival offers not only concerts, but also numerous activities within the framework of competitions in which spectators had the chance to win a double ticket for the concerts. The competition is now closed and the winners will be announced soon.
