Art Prize Kunsthub” 2025: Who will emerge as the winner from Leinfelden?

The nominees for the “Kunsthub” art prize in Leinfelden-Echterdingen in 2025 have been chosen. The prize, which is endowed with 10,000 euros, has been awarded every two years since 2021 and aims to promote young artists under the age of 40 who completed their art studies more than five years ago. This year's nominees are Seungjoo Lee from Leipzig, Linda Weiß from Stuttgart and the performance duo "The Symbiotic Approach", which consists of Julia Hainz from Frankfurt and Carmen Westermeier from Stuttgart. This is reported by Stuttgarter Nachrichten.

Seungjoo Lee, born in South Korea in 1991, reflects everyday visual experience in his oil paintings. Linda Weiß, on the other hand, works intensively with fungi and bacteria and explores the interaction between humans and nature in her installations. The performance duo “The Symbiotic Approach” addresses power mechanisms and transformations in society through the use of digital media. The decision on the winner will be made by a seven-member jury, led by Mayor Carl-Gustav Kalbfell and representatives from various art institutions.

Awards ceremony and exhibition

The celebratory award ceremony will take place on November 8, 2025 at 5 p.m. in the sports and festival hall in Musberg. Two hours earlier, at 3 p.m., a group exhibition will open in the Altes Rathaus Musberg gallery, which will be on view until December 14, 2025. This exhibition also presents the works of previous years' winners, Suah Im and Hannah Kohler, who have already exhibited their work in numerous institutions.

The art hub is not just a prize, but also a platform for young artists to present themselves to a wider audience. The winner of the art prize not only receives financial support, but also the opportunity to hold a solo exhibition in the Altes Rathaus Musberg gallery the following year. This underlines the importance of the initiative for the art scene in the region.

There is great anticipation for the event and the nominees are already taking a look at the challenges ahead. The art hub is an important part of the cultural landscape and makes a valuable contribution to promoting young talent.
