Construction work at Ränggloch: Two roads closed – diversions activated!

Extensive decking work will take place in the Ränggloch area in the city of Kriens from June 23, 2025. This construction work, which will last until the end of July, will require two full closures that will have a significant impact on traffic in the area. Obernauerstrasse, Rengglochstrasse in Kriens and Renggstrasse in Littau are particularly affected. Severe traffic restrictions are expected, particularly for motorized private transport, especially in the surrounding cities such as Lucerne.

The first closure affects Renggstrasse, which will be closed on June 25th and 26th between the Horüti roundabout and the entrance to the village of Littau. From July 7th to 11th, the Ränggloch itself will be closed, from the quarry yard to the Horüti roundabout. Detours will be signposted locally to maintain traffic flow. Despite these measures, there will be additional waiting times while further work continues under ongoing traffic.

Traffic management and diversion

Accompanying measures are planned to improve traffic flow during the closures. These are intended in particular to minimize the impact on local public transport. The plan is to build a 270 meter long temporary bus lane on the K 33a cantonal road between Grenzhof and Rönnimoos. In addition, a 110 meter long temporary bus lane will be created on Ritterstrasse in the Ruopigermoos section.

In addition, the traffic light system for the bus lane on Kantonsstrasse K 10 (Rothenstrasse, Viscosisteg) will be put into operation. In order to optimize the traffic flow, additional traffic routes will be set up on the axes of the city of Lucerne, especially from the west. These measures aim to ensure public bus transport during the closure and to give priority to non-local traffic via the motorway in order to avoid traffic jams.

As nau.ch reports, the full implementation of these extensive measures will lead to an increase in traffic in the area. Road users should prepare for longer journey times and use alternative routes.

For further details on the traffic routes and the planned work, interested parties can view the information on the official website of the Transport and Infrastructure Department of the Canton of Lucerne vif.lu.ch. It is hoped that the measures will help minimize traffic problems in the region during the construction period.
