In Esslingen am Neckar, a four-story residential building with 22 existing apartments is currently being comprehensively modernized. The renovation measures, which are carried out while the property is inhabited, take several months and cover many important aspects. The project includes an energy-efficient renovation, which not only includes the existing staircases, but also the installation of elevator systems that are built on the street side. Balconies will also be added on the garden side. In order to create additional living space, the building is being expanded using lightweight timber construction.
Innovative construction approaches with PERI UP
The arcades are designed so that up to six apartments per level can be reached. To ensure the safety of residents, the staircases and arcades are child-safe and approved for a load of up to 7.5 kN/m². Newly installed balcony doors that can be locked from the inside and outside serve as temporary apartment doors.
PERI's scaffolding system also includes PERI UP Cladding for enclosures, which expands the flexibility and applicability of the solution. The PERI UP scaffolding construction kit is particularly advantageous because the system components of the stairs are handy and can be used without tools. Engineers from PERI in Stuttgart accompanied the planning and implementation of this innovative scaffolding solution.
These comprehensive measures not only improve the quality of the living spaces, but also design the construction work in such a way that the use of the apartments is guaranteed throughout the entire renovation phase. This demonstrates a modern and well-thought-out approach to housing construction.
