Bempflingen in construction site chaos: rail replacement service from today!
There are significant restrictions on train traffic at Bempflingen station due to ongoing platform work. The trains on the MEX 12 and MEX 18 lines are affected and will not stop at Bempflingen station until Friday, October 3rd. The railway is reacting to this situation by setting up a replacement rail service between Metzingen and Nürtingen from today. This is available from the start of operations and until the dates mentioned. Departures from Metzingen ZOB, Platform 1, every hour on the hour between 5 a.m. and midnight.
The arrival and departure in Bempflingen takes place 13 minutes later, while the arrival in Nürtingen at the central bus station, path 11, takes place at minute 28. There will also be a night service on the nights of Friday and Saturday, September 26th and 27th, and Thursday and Friday, October 2nd and 3rd. Buses run at 1 a.m. (arrival in Bempflingen: 1:13 a.m., Nürtingen: 1:28 a.m.) and at 2:20 a.m. (Bempflingen: 2:33 a.m., Nürtingen: 2:48 a.m.) until the specified hour.
Further train cancellations and rail replacement services
These construction measures are not only limited to the Bempflingen area. According to reports from Stuttgart News Construction work by DB InfraGO AG also leads to train cancellations between Bietigheim-Bissingen and Stuttgart. The affected lines are MEX 12, MEX 17a, MEX 17c and MEX 18, with total closures expected over the weekend. These extend on the weekends from April 4th to 6th and from April 11th to 13th from 9 p.m. until the end of operations.
Particularly affected lines, such as MEX 12, MEX 17a and MEX 17c, will be completely canceled, while the MEX 18 line will only be partially canceled between Bietigheim-Bissingen and Ludwigsburg. Replacement buses have been set up to ensure connections on these routes. Similar measures also had to be taken for the S-Bahn line S5, so that replacement buses were provided in Tamm and Asperg.
