Cycling talent Louis Joos: Champion title in BW at the age of 15!
A promising talent emerged at the Baden-Württemberg Road Cycling Championships on June 2, 2025: 15-year-old Louis Joos from Warmbronn confidently won the gold medal. The young driver, who drives for MRSC Ottenbach, impressed not only with his victory, but also with a remarkable performance, completing the 65-kilometer race at an average speed of 40 km/h.
In a thrilling race, Joos secured first place after completing an impressive 30-kilometer solo ride. This achievement not only demonstrates his current level of performance, but also provides a glimpse of his ambitions in the future. Joos aspires to one day compete in the Tour de France, further illustrating his challenges and goals as an aspiring cyclist.
Success in various disciplines
In addition to his successes in road racing, Joos has also attracted attention in cyclocross competitions. He completed the German Cyclocross Championships with a bronze medal and finished the Cyclocross Bundesliga in third place. These successes contribute to his growing reputation among cyclists in Germany.
The current racing season includes eight stages in Germany, in which U17 juniors cover distances of 60 to 80 kilometers. Joos is one of the top favorites for the championship title in the road racing bike Bundesliga, the decisive race of which will take place on June 28th in Kaiserslautern. For this event he has drawn up a targeted training plan in order to be in top form at the German championship.
Challenges and perspectives
“I train between eight and 18 hours a week,” explains Joos, who is also preparing to graduate from secondary school in Weil der Stadt. This balance shows the high level of commitment he puts into his sporting ambitions. In addition, championships in the individual time trial and the four-man individual time trial are on the program in the summer. With outstanding performances, he could earn a call-up to the national team next year, which is already attracting the attention of professional teams.
The cycling community in the Stuttgart region is also on the move, with new initiatives and competitions promoting cycling. An example of this is winning first prize in the state's sustainability competition with EUR 15,000 for the project “Cycling for primary school students as a key to the mobility transition,” reports wrsv.de.
As part of the development of cycling in Stuttgart, the women's professional race, the “Women's Cycling Grand Prix Stuttgart & Region”, will also be launched on September 14, 2025 in Filderstadt. The event will take place with around 130 cyclists and 22 teams and shows the commitment to promoting women's cycling.
Louis Joos is therefore not only an example of individual sporting talent, but also part of a developing cycling scene that focuses on sustainability and inclusion. He embodies the hope and drive of a new generation ready to set standards in regional and national cycling.
